About the job

We are excited to recruit an Assistant Chef / Chef De Partie into our ranks at Hertswood Academy. The role is perfect for you if you are looking for a predominantly term time only role (with 3 weeks in holiday time to be agreed throughout the year) allows you to spend your time at home during the school holidays. We are looking for someone who has a passion for food – turning ‘school food’ on its head by delivering nutritious, healthy food to pupils, and bringing some fun to lunch time as you join our Executive Chef and team of GA’s behind the servery.

You must be able, and willing to manage the 360-degree kitchen. This means you are a chef, a leader, a cleaner, a KP, and keen to chat on the counters! It’s up to you to prep like a boss, manage your time and get everything done. You will be working with one of our best Executive Chefs and this is a flagship school and a great opportunity to make a real difference.

You’ll be joining a small company and have high input from our Culinary Director and Managing Director. You are supported by Jamie, the Executive Chef at Hertswood Academy and a team of FAB General Assistants who are genuinely awesome.

During COVID-19, things are a little bit different, but please be assured we have plans in place to make sure we have as many as people eating as possible whilst ensuring they remain safe.
